Continental Floral Greens: A history of Quality, A Passion for Greens.

The Southern California Flower Market is happy to announce our newest vendor: Continental Floral Greens!

We were able to chat with Christine, VP of Marketing at Continental Floral Greens, who was kind enough to answer some of our questions about their company. They are officially open as of this week, so come on by (they are located at Stall 11).

Q: First of all, congrats on being our newest vendor here at The Southern California Flower Market!  Tell us a little bit about how Continental Floral Greens got started. What is your philosophy?

Continental Floral Greens got it’s start over 60 years ago. With new ownership and a new leadership team as of October 2014, we are introducing a new Continental Floral Greens. We are making improvements in every area of our operations and business to ensure the highest quality possible, across the largest number of cut floral greens grown by any one company. We are committed to providing a new and exceptional greens experience.

Q: What do you specialize in?

We have farms in CA, FL, TX and WA and have unique partnerships with farms in Mexico and Central America to offer an unsurpassed variety of greens. We have the traditional leatherleaf, comador, and salal as well as speciality greens such as olive branch and magnolia. We offer our greens in bulk or in beautiful finished designs – such as wreaths, garlands and greens bouquets. We create stunning custom garlands or greens wreaths for weddings or events.

We own 5,300 acres of our very own High Mountain Blue Noble. Our noble is unique – it’s grown in it’s natural environment, at the base of Mount St Helens, giving it a silver-blue color, a denser needle span and longest needle retention of any noble available. We use our signature noble as the base in all of our exceptional, hand-made Christmas products. Q: Where can customers learn more about Continental Floral Greens and the services you provide?

We recently launched our new website (cfgreens.com). The site is gorgeous visual experience of our farms, our greens and our philosophy and offers a searchable greens catalog. With our newest opening in the SoCal Flower Market, we are able to offer all of our products to the LA buyer, whether they need just one more bunch or a full, weekly truckload – we offer the freshest greens possible, direct from our farms.

Q: Where do you find your inspiration for your floral designs?

I like to let the greens be the “hero” in any new design. Whether it’s a Christmas wreath made with our signature High Mountain Blue Noble or a large greens arrangement. Greens are so versatile – with so many options in color, line and texture, the possibilities are endless. We are seeing more and more wedding designs using just greens – archways, table runners, place settings, even bridal bouquets, and the end result is really natural, lush and elegant. And when the time is right, adding vibrant blooms to any farm fresh greens for a contrast in color is always a winner!

Q: How did you hear about us, and what motivated you to be apart of the So Cal Flower Market family?

We had visited the So Cal Flower Market on a few recent trips to the LA area. While talking with many of the vendors here we heard such positive feedback about the market itself, the management and the LA area floral customers. We felt the So Cal Flower Market would be great opportunity to reintroduce our world of greens. We are excited to be apart of this floral market family!

Q: Any other fun facts about CFGs you want customers to know about?

Fun fact – we harvest out High Mountain Blue Noble using a helicopter! It’s the quickest way to get the boughs off the ground, into the truck and into the cooler to maximize the fragrance and freshness. And we produce every holiday item by hand – every wreath, every centerpieceevery garland – in Belfair, WA location.
